.what would we do without solid role models of brazen stupidity and gall like Dandy Don Imus?my suggestions for affirmative action on Don's butt include, but are not limited to the following : 1 - his handlers should fire him 2 - the FCC should immediately slap his employers with a brutal fine 3 - the Justice Department should start digging. it won't take long to find enough dirt to choke both NBC and CBS. sic 'em, boys. yeah, good ol' Don. what a guy.

The sad part about all the to-do over the remarks that the blithering idiot made is that, after he got sorted out, there is still nobody going after Hannity. O'Reilly, Boortz, Micheal "Savage" Wiener or the kiddly-fiddling deaf pig man.
There is so much hatred of liberals and people of color and the less fortunate on right-wing talk radio that I find it hard to get too exercised about the trash talk of an obvious sociopath who everyone knows is just a trash talker. While Imus is the butt of jokes from left and right, there are still people who condiser the likes of Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter and Doctor Laura intellectuals.
Time to clean up the airwaves, big time.
Do you suppose the fat deaf junky is going to be calling Imus a typical liberal now?

i was lissenin to a local edition of npr a couple days ago and they were talkin about the contributions of local icon-activist anne braeden... in that conversation they brought up a time that m.l.king came to louisville to give a speech at his brother's church here to speak about the new fair housing proposals... an opponent to the plan asked the question: how do you pass a law that tells me i must like u or love u? u cant regulate the way a person feels about other people....to which king replied: true... but we CAN pass laws denying that u lynch me.... i have no hard feelings against the ignorance of mr. imus. he's entitled to his opinions ("humorous" intent or not)... neither am i opposed to any media conglomerates that choose to endorse his choice of ignorance... i'd rather opponents to my existence show themselves rather than convene and hide behind boardroom doors/entrenched in ignorance/but patronizing me for financial gain. at least this way we know what we face. what i do expect is for my government to not place any of my tax money into any efforts that go into supporting such ignorance. let imus and his buddies privately finance their stupidity. let him have his freedom of speech... and when we catch him in the streets... ...then

Here, here! Although this in no way justifies racial slurs, the fact remains that to demand respect, requires we respect ourselves.
The sheer thoughtlessness, to say the least, of Imus' statement warrants no further discourse, however, I agree that there should be a message sent in the only language recognized by idiots and those that support them, money. Fine the mega-stations for allowing their media to be a platform for this type of ignorance, especially in light of the fact that this is not his first infraction.
Clean up the airways? Indeed, I say use a Dyson vacuum cleaner, it never loses suction!

yeah, they fired his ass. but he's been well compensated over the years for spewing his brand of rhetoric. defenders of imus are using rap music as a buffer between him and his words, but what those defenders dont get is that WE ARE JUST AS ACTIVATED AGAINST MISCOGYNISTIC RAP LYRICS as we are to sexist/racist shock-jock hosts... and when they arent using rap in their defense, then they drudge up the equally ignorant comments that jesse jackson and al sharpton have made in the past to justify the man.
we caint fall for the okey-doke. the man's entitled to his beliefs and opinions - he should be prepared to accept the consequences when airing them in public formats.

wait.you would beat a child who says 'whas upmy niouka' but you don't have anything against don imus? you are sick sick sick. the man called the basket ball team 'nappy headed hoes' first of all a hoe is a garden tool second of all i think calling a woman 'nappy headed' probbably pisses her off more than calling her a hoe thirdly it was clear the man did not WANT to work there anymore or he woulnve said it. he is probably in negotiations right now for a spot on xm radio like howard stern. and lastly you are a mysoginistic misanthrope to even consider letting him or his producer get away with calling anyone a name on public television... myniouka.
