well... its 2010.
now what?
we actually slept thru the change-over (again!) - it's what we like to do.
i did drink a beer (first six pack i've bought in omose 2 years now). got five left... who wants 'em?
we are some big bourbon drankers tho, but the cupboards are bare liquor-wise; my birfday's in 3 weeks so maybe we'll have some woodford's reserve on hand by then.
think i'ma seek out journal publication this year send my work out to some magazines/enter some contests...
i guess thats a resolution.
whatchall planning on doing?
anyone?
bueller?
bueller?

Feliz Año Nuevo!
I am just back from Havana, the most exciting thing I did for 12 days was to walk 5 kilometers everyday on hilly terrain! Here in Merida everything is flat so that was a challenge and a great change. New Years Eve was mellow spent at home with Angel, my daughter Lidice, son Hawk, and their friends. A nice traditional Cuban meal, roasted leg of pork, though I roasted a chicken too, rice and beans, yucca with olive oil and garlic, greens, and a big salad. The traditional toast at midnight and everyone went to bed around 1 am.
No big New Years resolutions here just to continue doing what I started four months ago which is to get into good physical shape, drop some pounds and keep writing.
I have a poetry reading coming up in the Bay Area on February 28 with some really great poets so I am jazzed about that. The collabo CD I am working on with my son, his music my poems is about 1/2 done and what I have heard so far is really cool.
Today I go to the first day of a week long writing workshop called US poets in Merida which I am looking forward too, will post work!
again, Happy 2010!
peace and love,
Apaxi
