from a blog on myspace:
Fact:
Doctors are the 3rd Leading couse of death in the U.S. Causing up to 250,000 Deaths Yearly.
12,000 Unnecessary surgeries
7,000 Medications Errors
20,000 Other errors in Hospitals
80,000 Infections
106,000 Negative Drug Effects
Technology is not a contributing factor... we rank 2nd in the field of technology... Japan is 1st.
All this, while the U.S. health care system is the most expensive system in the world. We literaly die broke.
the late Dr. John E. Moore, Herbologist, State in a lecture that we are fools for depending on our health care system to save us when our minds and bodies are dis-easesd. as an alternative we should try to practice better eating habits and study herbology.

some statements you have to take with a pinch of salt. it would take a dump truck of salt for me to give these statistics the time of day.
first, put the statements in context - you are dealing with a man who has a straight up agenda ... a herbologist who wants everyone to depend on herbology. isn't that convenient.
when giving statistical information you state your sources; otherwise your "statistics" are just numbers pulled out of a hat. a quick look at the United States Department of Transportation site will tell you clearly that 42,600 people died in motor vehicle related deaths in 2004. more people died in airplane accidents and that figure is available from the NTSB. more people died in accidents in their own homes. getting out of bed and going to work is dangerous enough. do i need imaginative statistics that hospitals are a dangerous place? should i suppose that all deaths that happen in hospitals are the result of the incompetence of doctors? that would be convenient if you had an agenda that wanted to supplant the authority and usefulness of "standard issue" doctors. by the same logic, roads killed 43000 people last year. give me a break. "get outta that car! don't you know the roads will kill you"?
turn this jive around and ask yourself how many people would die if doctors did NOT practice. yeah, hunh.
no disrespect intended to the man who posted this. all kinds of disrespect intended to the bozo who came up with these creative and entertaining "facts".
neil.

I cant see how it would hurt to eat better. Somethings dont require statistics..just common sense.
